SKYWEB Digital Media has been in business for over 25 years, working with the two major satellite service providers-DIRECTV and DISH Network since they launched in 1994 and 1995, respectively. Star Satellite Products has been in the satellite accessory business since 1993 and a member of SBCA since 1995. Located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and with a staff of seven (five employees and two sales representatives), they have developed a reputation for providing excellent customer service. In fact, customers work directly with owner Steve Penner, who has 20 years of experience in the industry and is also Director of Sales for the company.

John Whitford Communications always supports trainings that they believe will set them apart from their competition and that is why they chose to participate in the Satellite CARES and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs. According to the National Safety Council, as many as one-fourth of US automobile crashes involve drivers talking or texting on their smartphones while driving, and despite laws to forbid it, the temptation to be connected at all times is proving too great for most drivers. In fact, distracted driving is so dangerous some studies have rated it to be the equivalent of driving while drunk or under the heaviest cold medications.

The technical advances and service advantages of satellite Internet broadband were on display near the Colorado State Capitol Jan. 29 as part of an informational event led by the SBCA. “Our demonstrations today showed that we can help connect communities to the vast resources available on the Internet regardless of their location” said Bill Hunt, Director, Regulatory.
